Always Best Care Senior Services Sets Pact with the Center for Elder Veterans Rights to Assist US Service Veterans
Always Best Care Senior Services announces a new joint effort in conjunction with the Center for Elder Veterans Rights, a Tennessee-based law firm, to assist veterans throughout the country in obtaining funds to pay for the care they need.
HOUSTON, TX, August 09, 2011 /Seniors PR News/ -- Always Best Care Senior Services, featured by Military Times EDGE (a print publication and online news service from the worldwide Gannett corporation) as one of the "Best Franchises for Veterans" has announced a new joint effort in conjunction with the Center for Elder Veterans Rights, a Tennessee-based law firm, to assist veterans throughout the country in obtaining funds to pay for the care they need.
Founded in 1996, Always Best Care began franchising in 2007, and now provides non-medical in-home care, assisted living placement services and skilled home health care through a network of more than 135 franchises throughout the country. The company has assisted more than 25,000 seniors representing a wide range of illnesses and personal needs. Always Best Care of Southwest Ct. serves Greater Greenwich, Stamford, Darien and New Canaan.
One of the greatest heath care problems facing seniors is the ability to pay for care. While medical and care costs are rising quickly, seniors remain on fixed incomes. While there is no universal solution to this critical nationwide issue, there is hope for at least one large segment of the population. And that's where the new Always Best Care Veterans Assistance Program comes in.
Qualified disabled veterans and their surviving spouses may be entitled to funds administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs that can provide tax-free funds to purchase badly needed care, both in-home and residential. 'While many veterans and their families are becoming increasingly aware of some VA disability benefits, the vast majority are not aware of all of their potential entitlements and how to legally and efficiently access them,' says Kristen Vanderkooi, a VA-accredited attorney and principal of the Center for Elder Veterans Rights (CFEVR). "Many care firms can provide care services, but Always Best Care is going a huge step further by actually assisting their clients in finding the funds necessary to purchase the care they need. This is a huge and very important new capability for Always Best Care franchise owners who can now reach-out to an entirely new demographic."
There are two unique benefits to the Always Best Care Veterans Assistance Program. The first is that there's absolutely no cost to the veterans for this program - legal fees charged by CFEVR are covered in their entirety by the local Always Best Care office, provided the veteran retains the local Always Best Care office for a minimum period of time.
The second and unique benefit is a 100% guarantee offered to Always Best Care and its veteran clients by CFEVR. If, after CFEVR completes a Pre-Filing Consultation review and issues an opinion that the client is apparently eligible for VA benefits, CFEVR will then represent the client before the VA and throughout the claims/benefit process pro bono. If the veteran is then turned down or denied benefits by the VA*, CFEVR will reimburse the veteran for the cost of care paid to Always Best Care up to the amount that would have been paid by VA benefits, and they will reimburse Always Best Care for any costs of legal fees incurred for client.
Legally, only individuals who hold direct accreditation from the General Counsel of the Veterans' Administration can provide direct assistance or advice to veterans regarding claims for benefits. "Our partnership with the Center for Elder Veterans Rights gives us that capability on behalf of our clients by directing them to a law firm without conflicts of interest, and which has an outstanding track record of success," said Stuart Wallenstein, owner and care coordinator of Always Best Care Southwest Ct. of the new partnership. Always Best Care franchises will seek and identify potential beneficiaries for entitlements under Title 38 of the United States Code and refer them directly to a VA-accredited attorney for help. The Center for Elder Veterans Rights has a nationwide law practice limited specifically to assisting elderly and disabled veterans.
"Our goal is to give veterans and their family members the knowledge they need to make informed decisions when purchasing health care," stated Dr. Glenn Osborne, CFEVR's Director of Education. 'Not only can the attorneys of our firm directly and completely represent veterans before the VA, we also ensure that the burden of evidence needed to prove a case for entitlement is in hand and proven to VA standards before a single piece of paper is filed. When our clients file for benefits, they know with almost certain surety if they are legally eligible and how much they will receive in VA financial assistance.'
Mr. Wallenstein added, "By working together, Always Best Care and the Center for Elder Veterans Rights can help some of America's most deserving citizens remain in their homes longer while maintaining a healthy and safer lifestyle. Or, if the veteran moves to an assisted living community, benefits can also apply to the cost of room and board as well as personal care."
