Doylestown Retirement Community Hosts Patriotic-Themed Philadelphia Zoo on Wheels Event

Senior Residents Celebrate Independence Day and Enjoy an Up Close and Personal View of Animals Native to the U.S.

DOYLESTOWN, PA, July 08, 2009 /Seniors PR News/ -- Wesley Enhanced Living (WEL) at Heritage Towers, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) located in Doylestown, celebrated Independence Day with a patriotic-themed visit from Philadelphia Zoo on Wheels.

About 60 residents were in attendance when Zoo educators presented Born in the USA - a program that features a menagerie of animals found in North America, such as U.S. reptiles, birds of prey and more. Residents were able to interact with America's native animals while being treated to a spread of favorite American treats; popcorn, snow cones, peanuts in the shell and soft pretzels.

Born in the USA kicked-off WEL's month long Uniquely American Festival. During the month of July, the Uniquely American Festival is being held in celebration of Independence Day at various WEL communities throughout the greater Philadelphia area. Residents will be able to celebrate their heritage with various activities during the monthly festival that will include visits from folklorists/storytellers, singer/songwriters and much more.
